The second grade Science/Health classes learned all about a well-balanced meal in conjunction with the first Thanksgiving feast. The students took the school cafeteria's Thanksgiving meal and wrote in the eaten items on their own food pyramids. Then they studied the first Thanksgiving meal, which included fish and venison and put those items on a big food pyramid.

The best part was that the parents got involved and helped make Native Americans and Pilgrams out their child's paper drawn body. Right before our break, each Indian and Pilgrim selected what they needed to bring to the Thanksgiving feast. the result was truly a Thanksgiving Feast for the eyes!
