Professor Eduardo Almaraz, the Spanish teacher at Springlake-Earth, was born in Monterrey Nuevo Leon, Mexico. He graduated as an Elementary School Teacher from a private school in Monterrey Nuevo Leon. He also served as a full time Missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ fo Latter Day Saints from 1984-1986. He went back to school at Texas Tech and graduated in 2003, with a Master degree in Romance languages with emphasis in Spanish and a minor in Portuguese. He worked as a translator for Tele-Mundo channel 46. After that, he moved to Seville, Spain to work as a Spanish instructor for Texas Tech in 2005. In 2007, he graduated from Tech with a second Master degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. He is married to Graciela Santiesteban, who graduated with a BA in Public Accounting in Cd. Juarez Chihuahua, Mexico. Together, they have "two beautiful angels," Montserrat, who is nine, and Dennet, who is three. He loves to read the book of Mormon, travel with his family, work with wood, acting, recycling objects, and window shopping.
