"I was born in Slaton, Texas, but we moved to New Mexico when I was two years old. I went to Claunch school for elementary grades, then rode the bus across the mountain to attend Corona High. I went to college at Eastern New Mexico University. I taught three years in New Mexico, then married Charles Parish and moved to Earth, Texas. We have three children and six grandchildren. Our son Mark is married to Gwen, and their children are Corbin and Jill; Cindy has a daughter and son, Amanda and Jace; Kyle and his wife Tammy have two sons, Trennon and Landon. When Kyle was nearly a year-old, I went back to teaching. I taught fifth grade for two years and then moved to first grade. I began teaching at Springlake-Earth Elementary in 1973. I am certified to teach grade 1-8 and have a minor in Psychology and English. My favorite saying comes from the Bible, "Do onto others as you would have them do onto you." I also enjoy reading, cooking, and sewing."
