On January 10, 2000, Region Band auditions were held in Abernathy. Ida, April, Jeff, and Clay auditioned along with over 250 students from schools from other regions.

Over 200 students from 2A and 3A schools competed in the band competition. Jeff placed 12th chair and Ida placed 5th chair. April and Clay made the Region Band. April placed 4th chair and will be played the 1st part in the band on the trumpet. Clay placed 1st chair and will be played 1st part in the band on the baritone sax. The region band concert and performance was held at Monterrey High School on January 29, 2000. The region band rehearsed with a guest conductor on Friday, January 28, and Saturday morning on January 29. The group perfomed in the concert Saturday afternoon.

April, Clay, and Allison attended the UIL Solo contest on Saturday, February 19, 2000. April received a 2 on the trumpet, Allison received a 1 on the piano, and Clay also received a 1 on the baritone sax. Allison and Clay will be going to state. Good Luck!!
