Getting Rid of Krista

by

Amy Hest

I read this book and I want to tell you all about it. The place I will be talking about is Manhattan. The characters in this story are: a girl named Gillie, a boy named Hank, another girl named Krista, some dogs and a famous movie producer named Mr. Bromo. In the story Gillie and Hank are surprised when Krista comes home from college because she and Gillie's father lost his job and Krista needed t get a job to help the family. Surprise! Gillie and Hank go into the "Walking the neighbors dogs" business. Then one day they run into the famous movie producer Mr. Bromo. He is walking along and says to them "Hi, I am Mr. Bromo. Do you know anybody who wants to be in my movie? The person needs to be a teenage girl with blonde hair, who can dance, who can sing and is slim!" Gillie and Hank smiled. "We do!" they said and led him to Krista. They tell Krista Mr. Bromo wants to know if she will sing and dance for him and then maybe she can be in his new movie. Surprise! Mr. Bromo calls the next day and says "Krista, I want you to be in my new movie!" Krista still lives with Gillie but is rarely there! I liked this book because I have a cousin named Krista and my name is Amy like the author.

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone

by

J. K. Rowling

My favorite book is Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. The author of this book is J.K. Rowling. It has a fifth grade reading level. It is an adventure book. My favorite part of the book is when Harry gets to play Quidditch. Quidditch is a game that you play on a broomstick. There are five balls. Two balls fly around and try to hit you. Two other balls the players hit to score goals. the last is a tiny gold ball with wings. If you catch it you win! It is my favorite book because it never get boring.
