The 40-minute test consisted of 60 objective-type questions designed to test knowledge and understanding in Algebra I, Algebra II, geometry, trigonometry, math analysis, analytic geometry, pre-cal, and elementary calculus. Questions were multiple choice and contestants were allowed the use of silent hand-held calculators that did not need external wall plugs.
