To the south you'll find the coastline

Of the Gulf of Mexico.

And to the east are the Piney Woods

Where the stately pine trees grow.

To the north is the old Red River.

To the west is a prairie scene.

And there's lots and lots of the Lone Star State

That stretches in between.

It's the home of the Armadillo.

It's the home of the White Tail Deer.

And the Mockingbird that sings so sweet.

And the Texas Longhorned Steer.

It's the home state of the Alamo

Where they fought for liberty.

It's the home of the lovely

Bluebonnet and I'm glad it's home to me.
