Service Projects:

1) painted the Lion's Club building at Springlake

2) adopted a two mile strip of highway to keep clean for the next two years

3) held a benefit luncheon for Jim Dutton

4) worked in community members' yards

5) kept up the marquee in town to inform the community of upcoming events

 

Other Activities:

1) attended city government meetings to gain insight into how leadership affects change in our community

2) went to see the Nutcracker at the Civic Center in Lubbock

3) experienced fine dining at the end of the year at which time the new members were also introduced

Qualification for Applicants

 

1) have an overall GPA of 2.5 or higher

2) interested in developing his/her leadership skills

3) willing to make a commitment of time (one or two Saturdays a semester, a few days in the summer, and other activities where appropriate)

4) must be a sophomore, junior, or senior for the year 2000-01 school year

5) must have three letters of recommendations from adult community members (excluding family); applications which do not have three letters of recommendation will not be considered
