On October 21, the Wolverine Pride Marching Band competed in the UIL Region XVI Marching Contest. At this event, each band is judged by three judges on a Division 1 to 5 scale, one being the best and five being the worst. Each band is judged on music competencies, marching competencies, and general effect of the overall show. Over the past years, the Wolverine Pride Marching Band has improved its ratings drastically. This year, the band received a 2-2-2, resulting in an overall rating of a Division II. One judge commented, "A really good high school marching band - I enjoyed your show - your concert is within your means. This is a first division level band."
