Second Grade
Springlake-Earth Second Grade had an exciting day on March 9, 2001 with five visitors from the community dropping by the classroom to read!
Mr. Jimmy Vasquez read the book The Flag We Love by Pam Ryan. This book explained the importance of giving the flag the proper respect. Mr. Vasquez is a military man, who is now responsible for ordering supplies for the units in Lubbock. The class found the book very moving and responded by standing and saying the Pledge of Allegiance to the United States flag.
The Second Grade students appreciate these fine community members taking time out of their busy day and "dropping everything and reading to us."
