Members of the Springlake-Earth FFA Horse Evaluation Team won 1st place at the Area I and II Career Development Events held at Texas Tech and advanced to the State Events. Heather was 4th high individual and Guthry was 13th high individual.

The Board of Directors have approved the addition of a market wether goat show at the 2003 Earth Springlake Livestock Show. Rules have not ben established but below are rules you can probably (might) expect:

Goats must be on feed prior to October 31, 2002.
Only wether goats will be shown.
Goats must weigh a minimum of 50 pounds.
Goats muct be dehorned or have horns tipped prior to the show.
Goats will need to be validated at the time of lamb validation.
Goats will need to have milk teeth in order to be eligible.

Curtis Thomas, Texas FFA State President, and Lacee Fraze, Texas FFA State Vice President, presented an excellent program to the high school and junior high school students on April 10th.
