Betty Parish teaches Fifth Grade Reading and Language Arts and is the E.S.L. (English as a Second Language) coordinator for Kindergarten through Eighth Grade.

She graduated from Clovis High School, received a BA from Eastern New Mexico University. Betty's teaching certificate is from New Mexico State University.

She is married to Danny, a S-E graduate, and they have three children: Russell, Megan, and Dana. Betty enjoys gardening and reading.

Melinda Riley taught third grade at S-E from 1987 until 1993, then became a stay at home mom. She rejoined the staff in 2003 as a fifth grade teacher. She graduated from Texas Tech, where she played basketball, and is certified to teach grades 1-8 and ESL.

She and her husband Kevin have two children, Kassidy and Zack. Her favorite saying is "Be your best!" and she enjoys reading books by Linda Howard. Her favorite food is blackened chicken fettucine alfredo.

Melinda's interests include reading, gardening, and decorating.
