Hi, I'm Missy Bigham and I teach 6th grade Reading and work with the students that are Dyslexic or are showing signs of having Dyslexia. I love working with the students. I love to watch the students grow, mature, and become better readers during the time that I have them. That is what teaching is all about to me.

I am married to a wonderful man Gary who is an administrator here at Springlake-Earth. We have a terrific 11 year old son, Garrett, who loves to hunt, fish, and has a great bug collection. If you find any neat bugs he would love to have them. His teacher Mrs. Riley gave him a Madagascar Hissing Cockroach to add to his collection. It's really cool! We also have a beautiful daughter, Garyn, who is 4 years old. She loves to play in the kitchen and pretend she is cooking. I often find pans of water where she has made "soup."

I love to spend a lot of time with my family. Garrett and I spend many hours working with his show steer and heifer. While Garyn and I love to read and do lots of baking. Gary keeps us all very busy on the farm from keeping the fence line sprayed, rounding up and working cattle, or taking care of the pivots.

I am a graduate of Amherst High School, home of the Fighting Bulldogs. I attended South Plains College and graduated from Texas Tech University. I began my teaching career at Amherst and taught Kindergaren. It was quite a change from helping students tie their shoes to Jr. High, but I love both age levels. Thanks to all my former and current students for allowing this to be such a joyous job.
