Mrs. Robbie Parish and Mrs. Debbie Haberer's first grade classes have a luau each year to end their unit study on Hawaii. During this unit, students learn that the word Aloha means hello, good-bye, or I love you. At the luau, we say good-bye to First Grade, hello to Second Grade, and thank our parents for their help this past year and how much we love and appreciate them. At the luau we dress like Hawaiians and have a feast consisting of ham sandwiches, tropical fruits, Hawaiian punch and cake in the shape of a volcano. We end the day by playing limbo, dolphin toss, fish sing toss, beach ball throw, and pineapple bowling.
